Test your client's workflow

Use the shared sandbox to prepare a WhatsApp solution before your client connects their own number. Wabery supplies the tools and infrastructure for agencies, developers and independent creators. You manage your client relationship and invoices.

Start with Wabery’s agent or connect your own application through the messaging API. Meta Business Agent access is a separate option and is not required for a Wabery-runtime demo.

The sandbox is a shared WhatsApp number for building and demos. Your prospect needs no Meta setup, dedicated number or sales call.

Sandbox billing changes October 1, 2026

Shared-sandbox delivery is free through September 30. AI usage is billed separately to the testing organization’s wallet. From October 1, Wabery reserves and deducts the destination market’s published service rate from that wallet, without markup. The $2 starter credit is allocated after you add a card. The shared number’s 1,000-message allowance is an internal Wabery buffer, not a free quota for each customer.

How to start

For a prospect-facing appointment-request demonstration, choose the template while adding or configuring an agent. Its demo controls give you a shareable WhatsApp invitation with a fixed synthetic business, participant restriction, expiry and usage limits. Your prospect does not need membership in your agency workspace. A sample request is simulated and never reserves a time or calls a production business system. Review the AI and delivery allowances before sharing; your organization pays according to the sandbox policy above. These limits do not change automatic top-ups or other projects.

Expired, revoked, exhausted or unfunded demos stop new authorized work. They do not switch to another paid runtime or undo messages already sent. Use the client connection invitation when your client is ready to authorize their own WhatsApp assets. Optional project access is configured separately in Settings → Project access. Connecting a channel or accepting an invitation does not publish the agent.

For ordinary developer testing with your project configuration:

1. Create an account at https://app.wabery.com/login?join=true.
2. Choose and configure the hosted agent or your external agent.
3. Open Channels → WhatsApp Business → Sandbox and copy the project’s join code.
4. Text the code to the sandbox number from your test phone, then send one normal WhatsApp message. That creates the first conversation.

Your configured agent should answer. Open Inbox to inspect the conversation or take over manually.

Using the API or CLI directly? The sandbox uses the normal https://api.wabery.com/v1 base URL and the project’s sandbox channel. Create an API key only when your integration needs one.

Do not use the sandbox for customer production traffic. Connect a dedicated WhatsApp Business channel when you are ready to go live. See Connect WhatsApp and the Quickstart.
