Connect WhatsApp

Go to Channels → Connect on WhatsApp. Pick the option that matches how the number works today. Then choose whether you complete Meta setup here, or send a unique link to someone else.

A connection link does not require a Wabery account. Anyone with the URL can finish that specific setup, so share it only with the intended person. The link expires after 7 days, or as soon as the number connects.

Choose the right option

Set up a new number

Choose this when the number is new or is not connected to another WhatsApp API provider. Meta will guide you through choosing a business account and verifying the number by text message or phone call.

If the number already sends through another API provider, use Move an existing API number instead.

Keep using the Business app

Choose this when your team wants to keep using the WhatsApp Business mobile app while Wabery handles automation and shared conversations. Follow Meta’s sign-in and select the business and number you want to connect.

Move an existing API number

Choose this when the number belongs to another provider or another WhatsApp Business Account. Before starting:

• keep the number in its current account
• make sure the old and new accounts are in the same Meta Business Portfolio
• add a payment method to the new account
• turn off two-step verification for the number during the move
• have administrator access to both accounts

The guided migration asks you to authorize the old account and then the new account. Wabery checks both accounts before moving the number, then guides you through verification and registration.

Do not remove the number first

Do not delete, disconnect, or deregister the number in Meta before starting. The migration must find it in the old account.

If you close the guide, return to the same project and select Move an existing API number to continue. Wabery does not repeat a failed transfer or registration automatically. If Meta applies a cooldown, wait until the time shown before trying again.

Reconnect a Wabery number

Choose this when you disconnected the channel from the current Wabery project and now want it back. Select the previous channel from the list. Wabery restores that channel and keeps its existing history.

If you are unsure

• Another platform currently controls the API number: choose Move an existing API number.
• Your staff still uses the WhatsApp Business phone app: choose Keep using the Business app.
• The number appeared in this Wabery project before: choose Reconnect a Wabery number.
• None of the above: choose Set up a new number.

Do not repeatedly restart Meta setup when it reports a limit or cooldown. Keep the error message and contact Wabery support before the next attempt.
